Stagecoach Tweaks Timetables in Response to Feedback

Service 80 has additional off-peak journeys following our request.
Stagecoach's website, as well as having links to the emergency timetables currently operating also has a Feedback facility, allowing passengers who have been seriously inconvenienced by the new times to let the company know.

The Bus Users' Group used the system when the temporary timetables for services 80 and 81 in the Lune Valley came into effect from Monday, reducing the service to peak-hour journeys toi and from Lancaster only.  We asked for a couple of extra journeys to allow passengers from the villages on these routes that have no shops to be able to get into town for essential shopping.

We are pleased to report that Stageccoach is listening and from today - Wednesday, 1st April, the extra journeys have been provided. The company is also making a few other changes to its new timetables from today and here is a summary of the changes.

All the new timetables are on our Emergency Timetables page.

Park & Ride Service Suspended and More Changes to Come

Lancaster's Park & Ride service is to be SUSPENDED from Monday, 30th March following a large fall in the number of passengers due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Further changes to Lancashire County Council's supported bus services are also announced from the same date.
Service 33  Morecambe - Bare Circular
Service 51  Carnforth - Silverdale  and
Service 89 Lancaster - Knott End on Sea
will all operate to a SATURDAY timetable throughout the week (except Sundays).
Our Emergency Timetables page has been updated accordingly.

The reduced level of passenger demand following the instruction by the government that only essential journeys should be made is expected to lead to further service cuts shortly and we will publish detauils here as soon as we get them.

The BUG would like to thank County Councillor Gina Dowding for alerting us to the above changes.
