Leafleting Action Postponed

In view of the continuing closure of Lancaster bus station due to flood damage and the relocation of buses to Common Garden Street and Dalton Square the leafleting action planned for Thursday 10th December has been postponed.
The Bus Users' Group intended to distribute leaflets to passengers on subsidised bus services altering them to the threat to their buses due to the county council's planned withdrawal of all bus service subsidies. In view of the disruption now being experienced by the bus companies and their passengers we feel it better if this action is postponed until things get back to normal.

UPDATE 9/12/2015:  The bus station is not expected to re-open until the week before or the week after Christmas as the floor needs to be repaired following the flood damage and the leafleting is therefore postponed until the new year.

Thanks to all members who were planning to attend. We will post details of the new date on this blog and on our Facebook page.

It appears that apart from the relocation of city centre termini to Common Garden Street and Dalton Sqaure that bus services have now returned to normal with the following exceptions.
Service 80 is being diverted between Wennington and Bentham.
Service 81A is unable to serve Gressingham, Arkholme or Whittington
Service 555 is running between Lancaster and Grasmere only. A special service is running from Kendal to Penrith to connect with service X4 for passengers travelling to Keswick.
